PTFE Gasket

The PTFE Gasket is a corrosion-resistant sealing gasket used for flange, valve, pipe, and pressure instrument connections. Made from PTFE material, it provides excellent chemical resistance and reliable sealing performance for acids, alkalis, solvents, water treatment systems, and general industrial fluid applications.

PTFE Gasket Product Overview

The SIYelectric PTFE Gasket is a flat sealing gasket made from PTFE, also known as polytetrafluoroethylene. It is widely used for sealing flange connections, valve connections, pipe joints, instrument accessories, and process equipment interfaces.

PTFE gaskets are known for their excellent resistance to many acids, alkalis, solvents, and corrosive chemicals. Because of this, they are commonly used in chemical processing, water treatment, pharmaceutical systems, food and beverage utilities, laboratory pipelines, valve sealing, and pressure instrumentation applications.

In industrial piping systems, this product may also be called a PTFE flange gasket, PTFE flat gasket, PTFE sealing gasket, or PTFE washer, depending on the installation position and application.


Product Description

A PTFE gasket is mainly used to seal the gap between two connected surfaces. When installed between two flanges, the gasket is compressed by bolts and forms a sealing layer between the flange faces.

Compared with rubber gaskets, PTFE gaskets provide better chemical resistance. Compared with metal gaskets, PTFE gaskets are softer and more suitable for many corrosive media and lower to medium pressure sealing applications.

For flange and valve sealing, PTFE gaskets are often used in systems handling:

  • acids and alkalis

Applications

Selection Notes

When selecting a PTFE gasket, confirm the following details:

  1. Flange standard and size
    Confirm whether the flange follows ASME, EN, DIN, JIS, GB, or another standard.
  2. Gasket size and thickness
    Confirm inner diameter, outer diameter, bolt hole size, bolt circle diameter, and gasket thickness.
  3. Medium compatibility
    PTFE has excellent chemical resistance, but the actual medium concentration, temperature, and pressure should still be checked.
  4. Working temperature
    Confirm whether the operating temperature is suitable for PTFE material.
  5. Pressure condition
    PTFE gaskets are commonly used in low to medium pressure flange sealing. For high-pressure or severe temperature cycling applications, spiral wound gaskets may be more suitable.
  6. Flange face type
    Confirm whether the flange face is RF, FF, or another sealing face type.
  7. Instrument application
    If used with pressure transmitters, diaphragm seals, or flushing rings, confirm the gasket size, bolt length, and installation space.
