Anti-Blocking Pressure Sampling Device

The Anti-Blocking Pressure Sampling Device is designed for pressure and differential pressure measurement in air ducts, flue gas ducts, boiler systems, dust collectors, bag filters, and dusty gas pipelines. It is commonly used with differential pressure transmitters, micro differential pressure transmitters, wind pressure transmitters, and pressure transmitters.

Also known as an anti-clogging pressure sampling device, wind pressure sampling device, differential pressure sampling device, or flue gas pressure sampling device, it helps extract a stable pressure signal while reducing the risk of blockage caused by dust, ash, particles, condensate, or sticky deposits.

Anti-Blocking Pressure Sampling Device Product Overview

The Anti-Blocking Pressure Sampling Device is a pressure take-off accessory used in dusty gas, flue gas, ventilation, and industrial air duct systems. It is installed at the pressure measuring point to guide the pressure signal from the duct or pipeline to a pressure instrument.

In many industrial sites, especially in boiler flue gas ducts, dust collector systems, bag filter systems, cement plant ducts, power plant air ducts, and furnace draft systems, ordinary impulse lines or small pressure taps are easily blocked by dust, ash, particles, or condensate.

This device provides a more reliable pressure sampling structure and helps reduce clogging at the measuring point. It is normally used together with:

  • Differential pressure transmitters
  • Micro differential pressure transmitters
  • Wind pressure transmitters
  • Pressure transmitters
  • Pressure switches
  • Impulse lines
  • Isolation valves
  • Blowback or purge valves

For differential pressure measurement, two sampling devices are usually installed: one for the high-pressure side and one for the low-pressure side.

Product Description

An anti-blocking pressure sampling device is not the transmitter itself. It is the front-end pressure take-off device installed on a duct, flue, pipeline, or equipment wall.

Its function is to obtain the pressure signal from the process while reducing the chance of blockage. The pressure signal is then transmitted through an impulse line to a differential pressure transmitter or pressure measuring instrument.

This product is especially useful in applications where the measured gas contains:

  • dust
  • fly ash
  • powder
  • soot
  • particles
  • moisture
  • condensate
  • sticky deposits
  • corrosive flue gas components

Compared with a simple small pressure tapping hole, the anti-blocking pressure sampling device usually provides a larger sampling chamber, better drainage or purge access, and a more practical structure for maintenance. Some designs can be equipped with valves for isolation, cleaning, or purge air connection.

Typical installation for pressure measurement:

Duct / Flue Gas Pipeline → Anti-Blocking Pressure Sampling Device → Impulse Line → Pressure Transmitter

Typical installation for differential pressure measurement:

High Pressure Sampling Point → Anti-Blocking Pressure Sampling Device → HP Impulse Line → Differential Pressure Transmitter

Low Pressure Sampling Point → Anti-Blocking Pressure Sampling Device → LP Impulse Line → Differential Pressure Transmitter

Main Functions

Anti-Blocking Pressure Take-Off

The main function is to reduce blockage at the pressure sampling point. It is more suitable than a small pressure tap when measuring dusty gas, flue gas, or powder-containing air.

Stable Pressure Signal Transmission

A reliable pressure take-off point helps the transmitter receive a more stable pressure signal, improving the reliability of pressure or differential pressure measurement.

Protection for Differential Pressure Transmitters

By reducing dust and particles entering the impulse line, the device helps protect differential pressure transmitters and reduces maintenance caused by impulse line blockage.

Purging and Cleaning Support

Many anti-blocking sampling devices can be connected with purge air, blowback lines, drain valves, or cleaning valves. This makes it easier to clear dust or condensate without removing the entire instrument system.

Suitable for Harsh Gas Applications

The device is useful in flue gas, air duct, furnace, dust collector, and other systems where the pressure medium is not clean.

Key Features

Designed for Dusty Gas Measurement

Suitable for air, flue gas, exhaust gas, furnace gas, and industrial gas containing dust, particles, or ash.

Used with Differential Pressure Transmitters

Commonly installed as the pressure take-off device for DP transmitters, especially in wind pressure, furnace draft, duct pressure, and filter differential pressure measurement.

Anti-Clogging Structure

Compared with a standard pressure tap, the structure is designed to reduce dust accumulation and blockage at the measuring point.

Optional Purge or Blowback Connection

Can be used with purge air or cleaning connections to remove dust, particles, or condensate from the sampling path.

Flanged or Threaded Installation

Depending on site requirements, the device can be supplied with flange, thread, welded connection, or customized mounting structure.

Stainless Steel Material Options

Available in SS304, SS316, SS316L, or customized materials according to the gas composition, temperature, corrosion level, and site environment.

Selection Notes

When selecting an anti-blocking pressure sampling device, confirm the following details:

  1. Measurement type
Confirm whether the system measures pressure, negative pressure, wind pressure, or differential pressure.
  2. Matched instrument
Confirm whether it will be used with a pressure transmitter, differential pressure transmitter, micro DP transmitter, or pressure switch.
  3. Medium condition
Confirm whether the gas contains dust, ash, powder, moisture, condensate, sticky deposits, or corrosive components.
  4. Process temperature
For high-temperature flue gas, confirm whether stainless steel material, extended length, cooling structure, or heat-resistant design is required.
  5. Installation method
Confirm whether the device should be flanged, threaded, welded, or customized to match the duct or pipeline.
  6. Purge or blowback requirement
For heavy dust applications, a purge air or blowback connection is recommended.
  7. Valve configuration
Isolation valves, ball valves, needle valves, drain valves, or purge valves can be selected according to maintenance requirements.
  8. Number of sampling points
For differential pressure measurement, two sampling devices are normally required: one for the high-pressure side and one for the low-pressure side.
