Overview

The all rounder gauge pressure transmitter PGD300 with S26 diaphragm represents the latest evolutionary step in the wide ABB pressure transmitters portfolio.
The combination of S26 diaphragm seals design according to ASME/EN standards with the unique ABB All-Welded technology eliminates leakage risks during operation while ensuring perfect fit to any process.
With the new Backlight display and optional Bluetooth, Digital Advanced Diagnostic feature and the QR code ensure a top-level usability experience.
Users can easily find the right application solution for their measurement needs with an excellent precision for pressure, level and flow measurements with advanced materials availability to withstand highly critical process fluids and hydrogen permeation condition (H-Shield).
The PGD300 have a straightforward accuracy performance level +/- 0.055% of span, full process compatibility to highest industry standard (e.g. NACE, ASME, etc.), manifolds M26 mounting option and combined multiple certifications (i.e. ATEX/IECEx/CSA North America and others).
SIL 2/3 certificate (COMING SOON) according to IEC 61508 standad for use in safety instrumented systems for SIL2 applications in a single transmitter configuration (1oo1) and for SIL3 applications in a redundant configuration (1oo2).
PGD300 features WirelessHART (COMING SOON) communication protocol allowing the addition of pressure measurement points throughout your operation. You can now monitor hard-to-reach locations and keep your employees out of dangerous and hazardous areas. The transmitters have a battery life of about 10 years at 32 sec update rates, delivering a very cost-effective and reliable solution to monitor your process assets.
Shorten installation times by eliminating complex wired infrastructures, and lower overall implementation costs of process measurement, with ABB wireless devices featuring WirelessHART communications – Measurement made easy.
The PGD300 with Modbus® (COMING SOON) protocol of communication provides the user precise measurements of gauge pressure and optional process temperature (the latter by means of an externally connected Pt100 resistance temperature detector) in a single device. Information is available to any host device that can communicate using Modbus® protocol.

Why S26 Diaphragm Seal Design Matters

The S26 diaphragm seal allows the PGD300 to work in more demanding process conditions than a standard direct-mounted transmitter. The diaphragm isolates the transmitter from the process medium while transferring pressure to the sensor through fill fluid.

For applications involving corrosion, crystallization, high temperature or media that may clog impulse lines, the diaphragm seal design can help improve long-term reliability. The ABB all-welded construction is also useful where leakage risk must be reduced and process compatibility is important.

When selecting a PGD300 configuration, the diaphragm material, seal type, process connection, fill fluid and operating temperature should be checked carefully. These details directly affect accuracy, response time, stability and service life.
