Overview

The multivariable transmitters 266CRH are used for differential pressure flow measurements. Apart from pressure- and/or temperature-dependent changes to the density of the fluid, the parameters such as the discharge coefficient, thermal expansion of pipelines and primary device and the Reynolds number are also corrected. It can also be used for DP level measurement if density compensation is necessary due to process temperature changes. This could make any level measurement much more reliable.
In addition to high precision, the multivariable 266 also offers the advantage that only a single device needs to be used for the measuring point instead of several transmitters and a flow calculator.

Typical Applications

The ABB 266CRH multivariable transmitter is mainly used where differential pressure, absolute pressure and temperature need to be considered together. It is suitable for mass flow measurement of steam, gas and liquids, especially when process conditions change and simple differential pressure measurement is not enough.

Why Remote Diaphragm Seals Are Used

Remote diaphragm seals help separate the transmitter body from the process medium. This is useful when the medium is hot, corrosive, viscous, crystallizing, or not suitable for direct contact with the transmitter sensor.

For 266CRH applications, the remote seal configuration can reduce impulse line problems and make the measuring point more reliable. The correct diaphragm material, fill fluid, flange standard and capillary length should be selected according to the actual process conditions.
