Flanged Globe Valve

The Flanged Globe Valve is designed for flow regulation, throttling, and pressure control in industrial piping systems. Unlike a gate valve, which is mainly used for fully open or fully closed service, a globe valve allows more accurate adjustment of flow rate by raising or lowering the internal disc against the seat.

With stainless steel investment casting construction, flanged end connections, and ASME or EN standard options, this valve is suitable for steam, water, chemical, oil, gas, HVAC, utility, and general process pipelines where stable flow control and reliable shut-off performance are required.

Flanged Globe Valve Product Overview

The SIYelectric Flanged Globe Valve is an industrial valve designed for flow regulation, throttling service, pressure control, and pipeline isolation.

A globe valve uses a movable disc or plug that moves up and down against a fixed seat inside the valve body. By adjusting the opening between the disc and the seat, operators can control the flow rate more precisely than with a gate valve or standard ball valve.

The flanged ends provide a secure bolted connection to the piping system, making the valve suitable for industrial pipelines where stable sealing, strong mechanical connection, and convenient maintenance are required.

This valve is commonly used in steam systems, water pipelines, chemical processing, industrial utilities, HVAC systems, oil and gas auxiliary lines, and general process control applications.

Product Description

A flanged globe valve is especially suitable for applications where the flow needs to be adjusted rather than simply opened or closed. Its internal flow path and seat structure provide better throttling performance, making it useful for systems that require stable flow regulation or pressure reduction.

Compared with a gate valve, a globe valve normally has higher flow resistance because the medium changes direction inside the valve body. However, this structure also gives it better flow control capability. For this reason, globe valves are widely used in pipelines where control accuracy is more important than minimum pressure loss.

SIYelectric flanged globe valves are manufactured by investment casting and are available in stainless steel materials such as CF8 / SS304, CF8M / SS316, and European material grades EN 10213 1.4308 / 1.4408. These material options allow selection according to medium compatibility, corrosion resistance, temperature, pressure, and project standards.

Key Features

Designed for Flow Regulation

The globe valve structure allows gradual adjustment of the flow opening, making it suitable for throttling and pressure control applications.

Flanged End Connection

Flanged ends provide secure bolted installation and are suitable for industrial pipelines where strength, alignment, and maintenance access are important.

Stainless Steel Material Options

Available materials include CF8 / SS304, CF8M / SS316, 1.4308, and 1.4408. SS316 / 1.4408 is preferred for more corrosive or chemically demanding applications.

Investment Casting Body

Investment casting provides accurate valve body dimensions, consistent surface quality, and stable mechanical performance for industrial service.

Better Control Than Gate Valves

Compared with gate valves, globe valves are more suitable for flow adjustment and throttling service.

International Standard Compatibility

Available with commonly used design, flange, and testing standards, including ASME B16.34, BS EN 12516-1, ASME B16.5, BS EN 1092-1, API 598, and EN 12266-1.

Applications

Steam Systems

Used in steam distribution lines, boiler auxiliary systems, condensate systems, and heating pipelines where flow regulation or pressure control is required.

Water Systems

Suitable for industrial water supply, cooling water, process water, circulation systems, and treatment plants where controlled flow adjustment is needed.

Chemical Processing

Applied in chemical pipelines, compatible fluid systems, dosing lines, and process equipment. For corrosive media, CF8M / SS316 or 1.4408 material is usually recommended after confirming chemical compatibility.

Oil and Gas Industry

Used in oil, gas, fuel, utility, and auxiliary process pipelines where reliable throttling, shut-off, or pressure control is required.

HVAC and Building Services

Suitable for chilled water, hot water, heating systems, cooling circuits, and building utility pipelines requiring flow balancing or manual regulation.

Industrial Utility Pipelines

Applied in compressed air, non-corrosive gas, oil, water, steam-related auxiliary lines, and general plant utility systems.

Advantages

  • Suitable for throttling and flow regulation, not only simple on/off service.
  • More precise flow control compared with gate valves and standard ball valves.
  • Flanged connection provides secure installation and convenient maintenance.
  • Stainless steel material options support different media and corrosion requirements.
  • ASME and EN standard options make the valve suitable for international projects.
  • Investment casting body supports stable dimensions and consistent valve quality.
  • API 598 and EN 12266-1 testing helps verify sealing and pressure performance.
  • Suitable for steam, water, chemical, HVAC, oil, gas, and industrial utility systems.
  • Manual handwheel operation allows gradual opening and closing for better control.

Selection Notes

When selecting a flanged globe valve, confirm the following details:

  1. Pipeline size
    Confirm the nominal size, such as DN15, DN25, DN50, DN100, DN150, or DN200.
  2. Flange standard
Confirm whether the project requires ASME B16.5 or BS EN 1092-1 flange connection.
  3. Design standard
Choose ASME B16.34 or BS EN 12516-1 according to the project specification.
  4. Material selection
    • CF8 / SS304 / 1.4308: suitable for water, air, mild chemicals, and general industrial service.
    • CF8M / SS316 / 1.4408: better for chemical, coastal, or more corrosive environments.
  5. Pressure and temperature
Confirm whether 150 LBS, PN16, and -20°C to 180°C match the actual working conditions.
  6. Control requirement
If the valve is mainly used for full open or full close isolation, a gate valve or ball valve may be more economical. If flow regulation is needed, a globe valve is usually more suitable.
